2. How do I find the right size for me?
Whether you need a large round "Jumbo Yoga Cushion," an "XXL Moon," or the handy "Mini" depends on various factors:
- How tall are you?
- Which sitting position do you prefer: kneeling, cross-legged or lotus?
- How long do you meditate on average?
- How flexible are you?
- What do you find comfortable?
- Do you also want to use your meditation cushion as a seat cushion in your living room?
Depending on the sitting posture and mobility, for example, a moon-shaped pillow The right choice. If your instep isn't stretched enough to comfortably meditate in the kneeling position, you shouldn't force it. For a relaxed cross-legged position, the half-moon offers optimal seating comfort. Your feet have space, and your buttocks and thighs rest comfortably. If you prefer to meditate in the kneeling position, smaller meditation cushions are more practical, as they fit better between your legs. Tall people need a higher cushion to find the right body angle.
It doesn't matter whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner! The key is to sit slightly elevated, so your knees are lower than your navel. If the angle between your thighs and torso is more than 90 degrees, your pelvis automatically tilts slightly forward. In this position, your spine can straighten effortlessly. By pulling your chin slightly toward your chest, thus exposing the highest point of your head upward, you relieve pressure on all the vertebrae and intervertebral discs: You are firmly connected to the earth and open yourself up to the sky. This allows your back to return to its natural shape, allowing your energy to flow freely.
A variable filling height allows you to sit for long, relaxed periods
